Beauty and the Beast

Yay!!! We have rehearsal today! Maybe I should have posted about starting Beauty & the Beast when we had our first rehearsal (last Saturday) but whatever. I'm pretty excited about this production, partially because I've got a really fun role, partially because I enjoy any production, and partially because it's yr12 and quite possibly my final musical ever, though I don't like to think of it that way. I'm kind of nervous because we are working on one of the few scenes I'm in on Tuesday and I have only been able to SEE my lines once during our read through. I'm pretty much shit scared that Ms Anstee's going to completely blast me if I don't know my few lines AHHH!

I found out this week that I have 2 SACs happening the day after my birthday hurrah. Both from Ms McNeice... oh well. Speaking of birthday, Cathryn said she's going to post herself and Lauren (her Scottish friend that I met last night on msn) to Australia! They're meant to be coming out here in June/July anyway, but I don't know; she said that about December too.

I don't know what else there is to write, other than Invader Zim rocks. Oh, quick update on the school sailing team - we didn't get through to the next round but there are 2 wild-card entries so we still have our fingers crossed.

Peace, Love and Mungbeans,

Sailing Jargon

Today was the schools regatta, and I'm so glad that I got to go but I'm still pissed off that we didn't get a team together until my final year. We may be through to the next round which will mean that I get to go to another regatta which rocks (if it happens). God, I had so much fun - if only I had known that that teams racing was so awesome before!

In short, the weather was crap. It was all over the place - there were (many) times when there was no wind and much sun; then there were also (many) times when it was FUCKING FREEZING and raining and quite strong wind with heaps of gusts and shifts and shit. At one point we had thunder and lightning too [omg!]. It was a round robin kind of system - 12 teams, 2 heats (they wanted more but the weather was shit), 6 races in each heat so that each team raced once in each heat. It kind of sucked because that ment we only got 2 races each, but it's all good.

In the first heat SMGS was up against Peninsula, which anyone who has been in a state youth/junior team will know, is bad news what with the Phillips's and the England's and such. We got 3rd, 5th, 6th which is an obvious fail, but the race really didn't go too smoothly for SMGS and we were really in with a chance for a while (for a while Danielle was beating Emma!!). In that race, Team Awesome (Dani & Sam McKeon) had to do a 360 AND a 720!, Team Chris had to do a 720 before the start, and we were generally having a bad race.

Second heat we were so lucky with our draw - Mentone B Team. B being very important because A Team contains Sam Kivell (!). Mentone B was a team of complete no-names and we kicked their asses! Yay! Team awesome just fleet raced the whole way and with a bit of teams racing help from Olly, we got in front at the top mark and finished a very comfortable FIRST! I think there was some stuff going on further back in the fleet that I didn't see at all but the main thing is that we got a perfect 6 point finish! (1st, 2nd, 3rd).

I saw Nick T there which is awesome - haven't seen him for ages! I saw heaps of other people there that I haven't seen for forever but they weren't as interesting as Nick. Says something doesn't it :P

Don't forget to keep updated on the volvo race! Sorry if none of this post made any sense to you but... meh.

Peace, love and mungbeans

(btw we came 6th overall out of 12)
